From the red heart of the spiritual centre to the brash party culture of the Gold Coast, you could easily spend over a year just travellling round. Combine that with an easy-to-get working holiday visa, and you could up it to two years, earning good money and enjoying the sunny, laid-back lifestyle.

Want something a bit deeper than parties? Head up North to explore Aboringinal culture. There is still a huge gap between the wealth of native Aboringinals and Western Australians and this is extremely evident in cities where a lack of education spirals from generation to generation and Aboriginals have nothing to do but drink alcohol. The government is addressing this and you can see positive results in Northern Territories, where Arnhem land still belongs to Aboringinals and good educational schemes and support have been set up to encourage the education of children in a ever Westernised world.
